January 12 Another year...Hi Space Cadets,
I redecorated the place
 I love the livingroom theme I have now. There are many things I could write about, but I have chosen Miracle Baby Days which is a Holiday I made up kind of like Festivis or Kwanza.
January 11, back in 1982 My 6 month old son had been sick all night I took him to the Dr,'s office and we rushed him to the closest hospital and had a spinal tap. It looked like low fat milk.
My baby had Bacterial Spinal Meningitis.
He was sent to Grady Memorial Hospital and put in intensive care.
He had 6 doctors and twelve interns assigned to his case. (one of them wrote her Thesis on Jonathan's case)
About 8 medical personel took me in a fancy confrence room with a big table and told me that there was a 70% chance that Jonathan would not make it through the night. I was 20 years old and terrified.
It rained that day and then it froze that afternoon and began to snow. It was a terrible ice storm for Atlanta. Meanwhile at home, my mom had to completely open up the house and freeze everything in it to kill the germ in case he picked it up at home. (out of 100 people on the street 10 of them are carrying this germ in thier nose or mouth)
Spinal memingitis comes in epidemics there were 3 cases at Grady. Jonathan was the only survivor. He was in intensive care for 11 days. I slept under his crib on a pallet on the floor. I was so young and didn't understand medical terminology as I do now. We were so lucky. Every year I make a point to celebrate Miracle baby days from Jan. 11 - Jan. 22
Jonathan will get several gifts sent to him during this time. (he used to get a gift everyday when he was a kid)
So, now ya know - We are having miracle baby days for my son Jon.

TTFN~ December 08 6 year itchHi ole blog. I wanted to come and visit because FB is too cluttered with relaitives. sometimes you just have to express your self without the watchful judgemental eyes of family.
a lot has happened in my life since i've been here. i miss jr. everyday, it has been 7 months since his death. it has prompted me to get in touch with a dear friend i havent seen in about 10 years. we have spent some time together and it is nice to have an old friend.
speaking of old friends my mSN / internet friends are becomming old friends. This january I will be starting my 6th year on spaces. You folks are my friends and I hope some of you still wonder in now and then to check on me.

May 06 Richard Newman  This is my best friend Richard Evon (Jr.) Newman.
He passed away suddenly after a long illness on Saturday May 2, 2009
I wish I had the talent of a skilled writer, beautiful words flowing from my heart to convey my sorrow and grief over the loss of the best friend I ever had.
I have been comforting myself with songs from the last 30 years that we have shared and dubbed "our songs"

If anyone should ever write my life story, for whatever reason there might be.
You'll be there between each line of pain and glory. I told him that many times.
We loved linda Ronstadt in the day. This song is so me right now.

I hear them whisper, they think we're lovers. kept undercover. They say we laugh just a little too loud, stand just a little too close, stare just a little too long. Lets give em' somthin' to talk about. A little mystery to figure out. We loved this
Jr and I have gone to jail together uh-humm more than once. (less than three times) Avoided going to jail together many times. He has taken me to drag shows. We have been in two auto accidents together. We drank our way around the world at Taco Mac in midtown Atlanta. We know eachothers deepest secrets. We agreed it's a little too late to do the right thing now.
I hope you at least listen to one song and think of a friend - then call that friend. Richard and I have been friends since before I could drive.I got my license before him. He did not drive until he was 23. He has ridden in every car I have ever had. (22 I think) We worked together at Sears catalog sales warehouse. Then later in Sears charge card remittence. In the 90 s we worked in a mini blind company together. He was there when I graduated from college. He was there when my son was born. He went to my sons college graduation. We have gone on vacation together several times. More than anything else, I'm sorry for myself, living without you.
I have shared more conversation with him than anyone else on earth. We had so many things in common, our lives were forever intermingled. how can I go on?
April 27 It's not NascarWe have a neighbor that lives behind our store.
He is always changing hobbies.
This month he is a race car driver.
We bought the roof of his car as an AD for our store.
 We figured the roof would last the longest of all the body parts.
  His first race was Saturday night.
He was 5th out of 17 entries.
We are very pleased that he did so well his first race!

P.S. Today would have been my moms 79th birthday. It's been 5 years, I miss her.
